FAQ

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?
As a Nazarene congregation, TCN believes the Bible is the inspired word of God as well as our owner’s manual for living. Truly, at TCN we are ordinary people who love God, love each other and live grace through worship, growth and service. We believe that a relationship with God the Father offers the hope, peace and strength needed to live an abundant and obedient life above the fray of the 21st century.

WHAT IS A WORSHIP SERVICE LIKE AT TCN?
If you’ve attended church before, our services likely will seem familiar. We sing and pray together, enjoy a time of fellowship, take an offering and listen to Bible-inspired teaching from Jeff Rollison, our senior pastor. If you haven’t previously attended a church service, it’s all very nonthreatening. Chances are you’ll quickly relax and enjoy the time with us.

WILL I BE EMBARRASSED?
No way. No how. You will never ever be singled out or put on the spot. What you can expect is a warm TCN welcome any time you enter the building.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Be “comfortable,” which is defined differently by different people. You’ll likely see casual to more dressy attire. It doesn’t matter. What does matter is that your heart is open to an encounter with God.

HOW DO I CONNECT WITH OTHERS AT TCN?
TCN’s Inhouse classes, following the Sunday morning worship service, are a great place to get to know people. And Sunday evening’s small groups offer an opportunity to meet folks in a smaller home setting, as well.  The Gathering at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays is another chance to get to know people, many of whom you will discover are not unlike you in terms of dealing with life’s challenges. The Sunday bulletin and weekly e-newsletter will provide details about those kinds of opportunities.

WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN?
TCN offers quality children’s and youth programming during Sunday’s worship service and Inhouse hour. And there are many opportunities beyond Sunday morning for your children or grandchildren to learn about God and begin cultivating their faith and a relationship with Him. We love our children and youth, and realize that they are the future of the church.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
We hoped you would ask that! We believe that God has equipped every one of us to serve Him in some capacity. There are many opportunities to be involved with the ministry at TCN – from worship arts, serving in the classrooms, ushering and greeting, technical ministries, office support and on and on. If you’re interesed in a particular area, simply tell a staff member or lay leader, and they will get you connected. Or call the church office (339-3117) and let us know where your interests may be.

WHAT’S THE BIG PICTURE?
We believe that our loving God put us on this Earth to be more than spectators. We believe that He has called everyone  into a life of faith and service: within the church, outside its walls and into the community, and out into the world at large. If that sounds like a journey that you’d like to take, we’d love to have you come along with us. We hope to see you soon at TCN!
