We believe everyone needs God’s love.

What does the church believe?
So, you’ve probably clicked this link for one of two reasons: either you’re new to this “church” thing and you want to hear more about it, or you’re curious about the “Nazarene” name. Either way, we got you covered.

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired love story to a world that has desperately tried to make things work on its own terms. Running away from our creator, we’ve tried to find fulfillment in things that break down, fall apart, disappoint and disillusion. Can you relate? But God’s story doesn’t end there, because when we reach the end of our rope and find ourselves hopeless, we find our creator there with arms wide open. This is good news! It doesn’t matter how rotten, how successful or how apathetic you’ve been, because on our own terms we all eventually hit a dead end. Everyone of us. But you were made for something more – for a relationship with the one who made you and loves you, not because of something you’ve done, but because you’re His child. Being a “Christian” isn’t about being “better than” or about “going to church,” it’s not about “dressing up” or “Bible-thumping” … whatever that means. A Christian is someone who has experienced love and forgiveness, and seeks to do the same.

We are ordinary people, loving God, loving others and living grace.

And, yes, there is more to it than that – it’s richer and deeper and mysterious and amazing! And we haven’t even mentioned Jesus – who made all this possible by becoming the ultimate reflection of God’s love. There is enough for a lifetime of growth and discovery … but it starts at that dead end. Have you hit it yet?

If you would like to know more about “Nazarene” specifics, click here to go to the “official” Church of the Nazarene web site. It does a good job of explaining the history and mission of the church at large.
